Budgethost compliance

This page is continuously updated with relevant and current information to ensure transparency about how budgethost.io processes and protects your personal data.

What is personal data?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), personal data is generally divided into two main categories: general (non-sensitive) and sensitive information.

  • General information may include names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers of employees, customers, or members.
  • Sensitive information refers to data such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health information, or details about criminal offences.

As a hosting provider, budgethost.io may process personal data on behalf of our customers. In such cases, you — the customer — are considered the data controller for the information you collect, store, or otherwise process using our services, while budgethost.io acts as the data processor.

For example, if you operate an online store where customers provide their name and email address to place an order, or you manage a membership site that collects registration details, you are responsible for ensuring that such data is collected and processed in compliance with the GDPR.

Data controller

When you are a direct customer of budgethost.io, we act as the data controller for the personal information you provide to us.

We primarily use this information for purposes such as customer support, account management, and billing.

Data processor

If your business or organization is hosted on a budgethost.io product, you are the data controller for all personal data that is collected and stored through your services.

Since budgethost.io stores and processes this data on our servers on your behalf, we act as your data processor.

As required under the GDPR, you must therefore enter into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with us to ensure that personal data is handled in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

You can easily request a Data Processing Agreement using the form available on this page.

If you have any questions regarding the Data Processing Agreement or data protection regulations in general, we recommend contacting a qualified data protection adviser or legal professional.
